At Point Pleco we use only top quality shipping providers and pride ourselves on our second to none packaging of all orders, regardless of order value. With well over 600 shipments under our belt, we are very confident in what we do.
Your shipping costs will depend on the size of the box used, which will be determined by the number of fish you order. Charges are based on the cubic weight and also have a fuel surcharge, calculated on the distance from Adelaide. If you are far away from your closest major city inside your state, the shipping will become more expensive.
Once you have confirmed an order with us and made payment, we will ship your package with the decided upon service, then we will provide you with all the shipping details, shipping label photos and tracking numbers via email. From our end, we can also check the location of the package and keep you updated if you wish.
In winter time, the temperature usually poses no issues, but in summer when the temperature is over 32 degrees we may hold off for a cooler day.
For shipping, we have a minimum order value of $30.
Shipping costs....
Plecos & Bristlenose - starts at $35 and goes up depending on how many fish and the box size that has to be used. Also which shipping company is used (Auspost, Toll Priority or Virgin) as they all have different rates.
Shrimp & Endlers - starts at $25 and can increase if it's a larger order and if a bigger box is needed.
We ship with the following options
Virgin Australia Same Day Cargo Service
The order will need to be paid for and the shipping booked in the day before shipment will take place. With this service you will have to collect the box at a freight building near your local airport. All orders over $1000 should be shipped with Virgin and packages can be shipped out Monday to Saturday. This is the safest and quickest method.
Toll Priority Overnight Express Service
This is a door to door service and your package will be delivered to your address. We have used this option for well over 150 shipments to date and they have never been delayed. This is also a very reliable and safe service and packages can be shipped out Monday to Wednesday.
Australia Post Express Post
This is the cheapest door to door service we use. When using this service, our refund policy will only cover your order if it arrives overnight, we will not cover delayed shipments. Packages can only be shipped out on Monday through to Wednesday.
Shipping locations
We can ship to South Australia, Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales or ACT. These are also the only states we can ship shrimp too.
We can ship fish to Western Australia, but only to Perth airport. You will have to organise and pay for the quarantine inspection on your end. We can assist with all the required information and help you to organise this. Shipping this way is quite expensive, so we recommend making a reasonable sized order to make it worthwhile.
We can ship fish to Tasmania, but a few extra steps must be taken to do this, as any shipping into the state must be accepted by a business with a specific license to receive the fish, which we have contacts for.
Unfortunately, we can not provide shipping to anywhere in Northern Territory.
