Neocaridina, or cherry shrimp, are a very hardy, easy to keep beginner shrimp. There will be a colour for everyone, including red, blue, white, black, clear, green, orange, yellow and more.
Caridina shrimp are very beautiful with many colours and patterns available. They require softer water with a lower temperature, PH and TDS than neocaridina. These shrimp come with dots, stripes and many different patterns, some are even a solid or opaque colour.
Both varieties originate mainly from small lakes and ponds in Taiwan. Being omnivores, they eat a variety of food and are also great cleaners of algae. They range in sizes from 2-3cm, and in optimal conditions, can live 1.5-2.5 years.
